One of the most important oaths for a Green Lantern made popular by Hal Jordan.

This will be a nice introduction for the upcoming movie, Green Lantern

Take note that there are the Golden Age Green Lantern and the Silver Age Green Lantern. As for the movie, it will be featuring the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan.

They called themselves the police of the Galaxy under the name of Green Lantern Corps. Only the chosen ones will receive the power rings. Most of the time,  those who fear nothing will obtain it. Well, I mentioned most of the time because Hal Jordan was chosen by chance or one could say, destiny? Jordan, a test pilot, received the ring by a dying alien called Abin Sur.

Now, the new Green Lantern needs to learn the ways of the intergalactic police protecting not only Earth but his own sector in the galaxy. To tie the movie in with the comic, it introduced Parallax as the super villain for the movie. He is the first human Green Lantern and is responsible to learn to use the ring as soon as possible to defeat Parallax. The movie will serve as an introduction to how Jordan trains himself to be the Green Lantern.

Onto the thing that gives him his power: Power Ring. The ring itself bears so much power that it all falls on the hand of the users. The limit is the user’s ability to imagine. It gives the user the power to bend and control physical world. Sounds great, right? Shooting lasers, forming shapes and giving you the ability to fly. Definitely powerful but one needs to have strong will power and strength to use the ring. Really, really strong will power. That is why being fearless is the best characteristic to use the ring.

One thing the movie trailer did not mention is whether the ring needs to be recharge or not. In the comic, it is essential to charge it or it will be useless. Other than that, its power is unimaginable.

The best is yet to come, as there is little to know about the movie. With that said, the movie is still one of the most anticipated movies for 2011. Even I am excited for this movie. I hope that Ryan Reynolds can portray the Green Lantern very well.
