TAMAN MELAWATI, JANUARY 12 - After hearing about the attack on the Metro Tabernacle church, a local blogger, Rafick Khan decided to set up a collection fund. Lasting over three days and advertised on his blog (www.rights2write.wordpress.com), a total of RM8467 has been collected.

According to Rafick, the fund has enjoyed donors from across Malaysia, and even from as far as the UK and Europe. The blogger also mentioned that a third of the donors involved were Malay or of a Muslim background, with the rest being Indians, Chinese or other descents.

One of the church's board members, Dr Ebinezar John, warmly expressed thanks to Rafick, and received the cheque on behalf of Metro Tabernacle, as ACP Zakaria bin Pagan, Sentul's OCPD looked on.

Located in Taman Melawati, the Metro Tabernacle church suffered the worst damage in the recent spate of church bombings in Malaysia. Consisting of the church's administrative offices, the majority of its ground floor was gutted in the January 8th attack.
