THE Dell company hosted the inaugural Dell Run for Diversity in Cyberjaya recently.
After the run, the company donated money raised from the event to various organisations.
A sum of RM19,250 was presented to the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) while four homes — Rumah Baitul Kasih, Agathians Shelter, Angels Children Home and The Shelter Home received RM3,500 each.
The Dell Foundation matched every ringgit collected at the run.
Participants who took part in the run paid RM10 each to join the 5km run around Cyberjaya.
According to Dell Global Business Centre managing director Bobbi Dangerfield, they were proud to play a role in building healthy communities.
“This run was held in conjunction with our Global Community Involvement Month (GCIM) and our corporate social responsibility programme provides Dell the opportunity to give back to the community,” she said.
“Our definition of diversity and inclusion is simple.
“It’s about helping Dell succeed with a global workforce that is talented, committed and reflective of our global customers.
“We are an open and inclusive workplace. Inclusion covers not only differences in race, gender and sexual orientation, but also in geographic location, education, work and communication styles, and ethnicity,” she said.
